I think it's safe to say that current events have left a lot of us seeing much more indoors than we would like. There are many interesting studies coming out about the implications of staying indoors too much. "Several studies have suggested that spending a few days in a forest results in an increase in the number and activity of our natural killer [immune response, aka nice killer] cells." Whether we take a walk to the beach, mountain, or even just the park, we are giving our immune systems the boost they need. |
We absolutely LOVED celebrating our growing family in Hawaii. Traveling with a newborn was a great way for me to destress and enjoy such a special time with our baby. Waikīkī Beach, O‘ahu 5. Lanikai Beach, Oʻahu Have any of you visited these beaches? I'm curious to hear your opinions! |
Everyone knows that travel and relationships go hand in hand. You go on vacation to get closer to the people you travel with right? You only travel with friends you like. Or significant others you want to have a deeper relationship with. Or to re-connect with your kids and spouse. And supposedly when you travel together, you end up happier and more bonded in your relationship at the end. Right? It seems like common sense, but the more I’ve been thinking about it…the more I’ve wondered, is that really true? Or is it something we just assume? The nurse in me wanted some actual evidence of what travel does to our relationships. Visit tripfixers.com to read the research on my blog! |

According to the Global Peace Index, these are some of the safest places to travel this Summer: -Iceland -Belize -Grenada -St. Kitts and Nevis -Thailand -Rwanda -British Virgin Islands -Costa Rica -French Polynesia -Cyprus Being a nurse, I'm conscious of the possible dangers of travel while the pandemic is still prominent in many places. These locations have been identified as the least risk for contracting or spreading COVID. Anywhere you choose to travel, be safe and considerate! |
Recent studies published by the Huffington post revealed: -6/10 couples had to a cancel previously planned trips due to COVID. -3/4 said they are eager to travel once it is safe to do so. -4/10 said they think about taking a couple's trip a few times each month. -6/10 say their relationship with their partner suffers when there isn't opportunity to explore new places and have new experiences together. I read these statistics and think: -I'm so glad more places are getting safer for travel again! -Couples need to make their travel dreams happen. -Traveling and creating new experiences with your partner is one of the best ways to stay close! |
Parents of little ones know how tricky an outing can be, especially when your kiddo isn't interested in the activities you have planned. Here are 3 tips to help your young ones explore while on vacation: -Show them something new. This could be a new food to try, a new animal to see, or even a new activity that they haven't experienced before. -Give them a responsibility. If your little one feels that they can contribute, they can be a part of the excursion! This includes little ones. Their responsibility could be as simple as scooping sand into a bucket. -Get outside. Help them enjoy the outdoors by planning some outdoor time each day of your trip. This will be great for parents, too! |

The experience of creating and preparing social media content taught me what it’s truly like to interact with an audience. I learned from my mentors and those with similar pages to mine. I found that similar Instagram creators were experiencing challenges just like myself and found fulfillment in working as a community to problem-solve.
Through the analytics provided by Instagram’s creator tools, I pinpointed my audience and began tailoring content toward that group. This page was a wonderful creative outlet and showcase of my skills. I found great fulfillment in sharing the things I love with an audience. Even with the large amount of work that went into creating, I found the process becoming more and more refined with practice. |
June of 2020, I launched my social media art studio, FaithMadeArt. My Instagram page is focused on marketing the art pieces I love to create. Through social media marketing, keyword research, and quality content production, I was able to reach over a thousand Instagram followers in a couple months. I found great success through my effort made profits within a few weeks.
This page is now a continued passion project in which I consistently produce content and develop in marketing. I create custom bouquet portraits, religious art, Christmas gifts, and other pieces, as well as sell my art prints. |
The Gourmet Student was a project in which I created content targeted at college students learning new skills in the kitchen. I created Facebook and Instagram accounts with consistent content on techniques, recipes, and education.
The page grew quickly in the two months I was assigned this project and propelled me into confidently creating FaithMadeArt. |
